To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the school, “A Journey in Faith” was the proposed theme for the mural. Three main paths which share a spiritual core as their common destination illustrated the journey: Clarkson’s pioneers and their contribution in building the community, combined and continuing with the students’ work through food drives and fundraising programs; the path taken by our immigrants, whose contribution brought special characteristics to our society; and the spiritual path, represented by the story of St. Christopher, the school’s patron saint and a symbol of the active presence of the church in the community. Historical references and the application of the different elements and principles of design were explored to emphasize the ideas.
